Peaceful Pages: The Journaling Habit That’s Actually Working for Perfectionist & Neurodivergent Creatives

New notebook, new life, right? Lol. If you’ve ever tried to journal consistently but ghost it after three days, you’re speaking to my soul.

It probably goes something like this:

You bought the fancy notebooks. You told yourself "this time I’ll stick to it."

And yet… here we are, no journaling happening.

Not because you’re lazy. Not because you’re undisciplined. But because perfectionism, executive dysfunction, anxiety, or plain ol’ burnout keep getting in the way.

Does this morning routine sound familiar?

  • You want to start the day grounded and clear, but instead, you reach for your phone and get lost in the doom scroll and before you know it, your best brain power is spent on Suzy’s divorce drama on FB, another “am I overreacting” thread on Reddit, and another political meltdown on the news.

  • You crave space to think, dream, reflect but your brain feels too foggy, fast, or full to even begin.

  • You love the idea of a creative practice, but the pressure to “do it right” or “do it daily” makes it feel impossible.

We get you, because here at IPAS, we are you.

Peaceful Pages is a daily-ish virtual journaling practice for calm minds and creative momentum. And the first week? It was everything.

So what is Peaceful Pages?

A guided virtual journaling and morning pages experience designed to help you:

  • Clear mental clutter and emotional residue

  • Reconnect with your own thoughts and ideas

  • Gently process stress and anxiety

  • Actually show up for your creativity (without pressure)

3x a week. 30 minutes or less. No perfection required.

Every session opens with a Song of the Day that sets the tone (think inspiring lyrics + light movement or doodling to ease in). Then we move through our T.E.N.D. Method journaling practice:

  • Tune In: Feel the feels. Dump the mental clutter.

  • Express Freely: Follow gentle prompts to reflect and explore.

  • Notice & Nurture: Discover what’s working, what’s not, what’s needed.

  • Decide & Do: Choose one tiny thing to act on, or keep reflecting. This is intentional time to make progress on things that matter to YOU.

It’s a soft reset for your brain, your heart, and your creative life.

Peaceful Pages is in the “tend” phase of our Inner Peace Imperfectionist method. Why? No matter what we’re doing, we need to tend to the soil from which all things grow. Here we do that by getting the gunk out of our minds to create space and capacity.

Week One Highlights

We welcomed our founding members with three powerful guided journaling and morning pages sessions:

Monday: Stream & Soothe

A classic mind-dump Monday. Releasing last week. Clearing the cobwebs. Letting it all OUT.

Song of the Day: “Mindful Breathing” by Trevor Hall ft. Thich Nhat Hanh

Wednesday: Wander & Wonder

A reflective midweek pulse-check. Noticing how we feel. Dreaming ahead for the weekend.

Song of the Day: "I am" by Satsang

Friday: Feel-Good Flow

A celebration of tiny wins. Letting the inner child out to play. Journaling that feels fun.

Song of the Day: "I Just Wanna Shine" by Fitz and The Tantrums

Reviews and testimonials from peaceful pages first week

One of the best parts of Peaceful Pages isn’t just the journaling itself, it’s the way showing up together changes the entire energy of the day.

You don’t even know until you try it! The community and journaling energy… It carries you, it supports you, it keeps you focused and intentional.

In just our first week, members have been sharing wins, projects, and little moments of joy that prove this is so much more than “just writing in a notebook.”

  • "Worked on my prototype this morning. It feels so good to start the day early, in a supportive community AND make progress on a bigger goal. It’s hard to stop to get ready for work!!! I just want to play all day! Thank you everyone for getting me moving." – B

  • "Thank you. I made a mini mandala with positive and hopeful words and I feel good now!" – K

  • "I’m good and having a fabulous day! I’m loving our morning time together. Thank you Katie" – J

  • “That getting up earlier brings peace, and ease rather than rushing through pages before work and derailments start.. thank you for that accountability! Now I can start my day with a shower and pants on, rather than feeling gross at work in my PJs! “ - B

  • “I did do some journaling today. I’m giving myself permission to do this in a comfortable time for me. And, I want to do more of it so you’ll be “seeing” me here frequently. Thanks for all the inspiration, Katie!” -J

Every single session is different, but the feeling is the same: a grounded, supportive, energizing space to show up for yourself and leave inspired to keep going, pulling inspiration from mindful art, sound healing, morning pages, guided journaling, and art journaling during our workshops together.

Why It Works (Especially for Neurodivergent & Recovering Perfectionist Creatives)

Peaceful Pages doesn’t ask you to do more or show up perfectly or do EXACTLY what the prompt says.

You don’t have to follow every single instruction to make it worthwhile.

Only want to do 15 minutes? Cool, come to the first or second half of class.

Need to miss a day because you’re tired AF as long as you get back to it tomorrow? That’s the way to do it.

Reaching out if you’re feeling like you know you NEED to journal but can’t - we’ve all been there. Let’s talk about it.

Every class at Inner Peace Art Studio gives you permission to show up as you are, where you are. We give you a thread to weave and you weave it YOUR way <3
